Allen Morris is a photographic artist based in South Dakota. He is an Assistant Professor at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota where he teaches classes in the Departments of Art and Mass Communication.
His research relies on a variety of light-sensitive materials, both digital and analog coupled with contemporary and historical photographic processes and techniques. Morris’ work examines the relationship between humans and their environments with a particular interest in the impact that they have on the creation and evolution of human identity.
His work has been exhibited in the United States and internationally. He is an active member of the Postcard Collective and the Society for Photographic Education.
